The Search For Purpose.

Every time I attempted to draft the idea of my next film my mind went towards purpose for some reason. I couldn't escape that thought, so I put together a short film/visual poem about purpose written mainly by my amazing girlfriend. This is one of my favorite things I've made in a while, and I truly hope you felt what I did making this. I went with Spanish as the language of choice because I felt the language effortlessly conveyed the point I was trying to make. Different language is something I want to incorporate into my films as I believe every culture and each language is a grounded in an unwavering principle and purpose. Soon I will do French, Igbo, Chinese, etc. and I can't wait to share what I envision in collaboration with various cultures.

Found out I live close to parts of Texas that Texas very hard. I've been working a lot on client work and have grown so much in this medium and don't want to lose sight of the fun and short personal videos that got me into posting on YouTube. I wanted to make this film as I worked on a more intentional film that I am almost done with. I also wanted to play around with lighting and the effects I could create with just my flashlight and random objects lying around. I didn't have a concrete direction while editing and filming, but I truly hope you enjoy and feel what I felt while making this short film.

Had the amazing opportunity to spend the summer in North Carolina and wanted to create something while traveling. Being from Texas, getting out to a greener state was so refreshing and really put things into perspective about how vast and beautiful the world is. My goal with this film was to evoke some sort of feeling from the viewer, doesn't matter what, but if they felt something then my goal was accomplished. Nonetheless, I hope you feel, reflect, and enjoy the video.
